On Sunday, we wanted some good food, so we headed over to our local restaurant, the "Lighthouse Bar-BQ & Grill". It was such a nice afternoon, and we just wanted to tell everyone what a great time and meal we had! The folks at the Lighthouse are so friendly and really make sure everyone is well taken care of. Outside on the lakeside deck, owner Rick Mensik and Neal Ford entertained local patrons with great music. The food was great, and the service was outstanding.
We just have to tell you all about the great food we had! Donna ordered the Smoked Chicken plate. It's a 1/2 chicken smoked and glazed with their homemade BBQ sauce; it was so tender and tasty! For her sides, she chose the fried okra and Justin's secret recipe collard greens that Donna raved about!
Curtis had the daily special, which was the Fried Chicken plate. It came with 3 generous pieces of chicken fried to perfection with a golden, crispy crust, served with mashed potatoes and homemade country gravy, finished with a delicious vegetable succotash. It is a colorful blend of fresh veggies straight from the local farmers market, seasoned just right & topped with cheese & bread crumbs! Everything was delicious!
Everyone in the area needs to try the Lighthouse Bar-BQ & Grill; the food is awesome with generous portions!
